Cardamom welcomes two members to its Board

Bielamowicz and Powell-Steed each bring unique perspectives as well as decades of healthcare expertise and leadership that will support and guide Cardamom in its next phase of growth.

Dr. Lisa Bielamowicz is one of the nation’s leading healthcare strategists, with an extensive career’s worth of experience advising industry executives about the future marketplace and impact on their organizations, with a focus on serving America’s largest health systems. Lisa is known for being able to distill actionable insights from complex and conflicting market forces, with unparalleled understanding of healthcare markets and provider dynamics.

As the co-founder and former president of Gist Healthcare, a strategic advisory service providing guidance to healthcare industry leaders, as well as the former chief medical officer and senior vice president at the Advisory Board Company, she brings energetic, provocative discussion to every forum she leads, having advised hundreds of executive teams and boards of directors over the past two decades. “Cardamom is in a unique position to be able to help health systems on both operations and strategy. Dr. Airica Powell-Steed is an internationally recognized healthcare executive, CEO, corporate board director, and fourth generation nurse whose career has been dedicated to transforming healthcare and improving the lives of the people it serves. Guided by both professional expertise and personal purpose, she is passionate about harnessing innovation, technology, and human-centered leadership to improve health outcomes, eliminate disparities, and create healthier communities.

As the former president and CEO of one of the nation’s largest public health systems and a former Big Four healthcare management consultant, Dr. Powell-Steed has led some of the country’s most complex healthcare organizations through enterprise transformation, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in financial improvement while delivering breakthrough gains in quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and population health.
